• Ten students and three faculty from school attended an event at Infosys Campus on 13th November. Infosys hosted an award ceremony at their campus where the winners of the Infosys Prize 2014 were announced and a workshop on ‘Science in Sports’ was conducted which demonstrated the application of physics concepts like Centre of gravity and Aerodynamics in sports. Students enjoyed the hands on activities provided to them during the workshop. It was an enriching and learning experience for students. They were provided with an opportunity to interact with the dignitaries.
  • The ASISC National Badminton Competition was held on the 9th and 10th November, hosted by the Karnataka Badminton Association. Two of our middle school students stood first in the Junior Doubles category. They also won the Team event in the 11th Ramesh Padukone- Mehul Sirur Memorial Interschool Badminton Tournament held from 8th to 15th November at the Canara Union Malleshwaram.
  • A high school student represented Karnataka region in ASISC ( Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate) National Lawn Tennis Competition held on 1st and 2nd November 2014 at Kengeri. She was awarded first prize in Junior Girls Singles category at National level competition and won gold medal for the same.
  • Five science projects were presented at Indian National Science and Engineering Regional Fair that was held at Vagdevi Vilas School. The Medicine Alert System with Messaging Facility project won Gold medal, Power Saving in Mobile Chargers by minimizing Phantom Load by Mechanical Timer won Silver medal and Bronze medal was given to a project on Study of Impact of water Heated in a microwave oven vis-à-vis normal tap water on the growth of Plants .
  • A high school student participated in 3rd South Asian ITF Taekwon- Do Championship – 2014, conducted by Nepal International Taekwon- Do Federation at Kathmandu. He won silver medal in Individual Pattern in male junior category in colour belt section. He was presented with a silver medal and a Certificate of Merit.
  • A class ten student took part in Karnataka Kalaripayattu Association State Championship. He won several accolades and medals in the competition for his performance. He stood second place in Maippayattu and Urumi Veesal events in junior boys category. He won third place in Chuvadukal, Valum Pavija and Kaiporu event.
  • Two teachers from the Middle School, participated in the Annual Interschool Teacher’s Quiz – QWIZ 2014 organised by National Hill View School and conducted by Pickbrain Giri Balasubramaniam. They qualified to the finals from among 160 teams and won the Second Runners – up prize. It is a matter of great pride that they have been finalists eight times and also won the Winner’s Trophy twice since the inception of this quiz in 2004.
