JUNIOR MONTESSORI

Children between the ages of 2 years 10 months and 6 years are cocooned in the safe environs of the Montessori Section, where the ministrations of the Montessori facilitators, imbued with the spirit of love and understanding, prepare them for the Primary level.

Junior Montessori

Children at our school commence their path of learning with a sense ofsecurity and continuity as they get to share their journey of education with the same adults and in the same environment. Instead of forcing young minds into a routine like alphabetical and numerical learning we aim to help them blossom spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally. The Montessori Section consists of child-friendly environments and our workrooms are specifically designed to help students learn organically. We have highly trained adults and helpers, to ensure that each child gets individual attention and each environment is fully equipped with the latest technology to help children assimilate what they have learned. The Sishu Griha campus at Malleshpalya is a space which is dedicated to nurturing young minds and it has been constructed exclusively for students from Montessori till grade V. A PLACE WHERE STORIES COME ALIVE

Story sessions, organised games, physical exercises, exercises of practical life, sensorial activities, arithmetic, dance and nature walks are an integral part of our Montessori Programme. What makes us unique in our approach of imparting education is that we encourage teachers or aunties, as they are lovingly addressed by our students, from other environments to be present in these activities. This not only familiarises children with other adults, but also gives the grownups an opportunity to interact and bond with children from other environments.

Celebrations

We at Sishu Griha are proud of our country’s secular legacy and rich cultural heritage. Keeping the Nation’s diverse traditions and integrity in mind we celebrate all the major festivals that are a part of the country's vibrant cultural tapestry and encourage the children to partake in every festivity.

Tarang

Tarang

We appreciate how music and dance is an integral part of human culture and are eager to inspire young children to learn more and more about these forms of art. Tarang, a dance and music programme, arranged on the last Monday of every month has been introduced to serve this very purpose.

Art And Craft

Art And Craft

Young minds blossom when their creativity is given a pair of wings. We make sure the little ones have enough craft activities every week to help them imagine, innovate and invent.

Class Picnic

Class Picnic

We take the children for a class picnic once a year and encourage them to spend the day playing to their hearts’ content. Not only does this help them bond but it also instils in them a sense of self-responsibility, civic duty and builds progressive group behaviour. The children love this little adventure, and look forward to the ride in the school bus.

SPORTS

Children are encouraged to take part in sports from an early age to help them inculcate a sense of team spirit and make them realize that both victory and defeat are important learning lessons and should be accepted gracefully.

THE MONTESSORI WORKROOMS -
A SISHU GRIHA INNOVATION

montessori workrooms

Since Montessori children spend three years in environments which are very different from traditional classrooms, we allow the children to spend some time in the Montessori Workroom which simulates a classroom, with chairs, desks and a blackboard once they reach their third year. Here, the teacher-in-charge prepares the students for Grade 1 by giving them a glimpse of what they might expect in the future. The teacher also promotes interest in the curriculum ahead by conduction of simple science experiments, and helping them understand the basic constructs of history and geography.

QCT – QUALITY CIRCLE TIME

The circle time sessions help Montessori children work on their listening, observing, thinking, speaking and concentrating skills. The children here are helped to understand and solve problems prevalent in their environments all by themselves.

OPEN HOUSE

The ‘Open House’ is an annual feature and on this day, the Montessori environments are open to the parents of the new entrants to familiarise them with the environments, the learning materials and the staff members. It also helps build an association with the child’s family.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM

Parent Orientation is mandatory at the Montessori level.  It is attended by the parents of the newly-admitted children in the Montessori environment. This gives them the basic information about the teaching methodology and also about the culture of the school and its policies.
